Activist and philanthropist as well as writer and columnist, Adam Milstein has recently published an article on JNS.org about radical Muslims and how they may be inciting worldwide Antisemitism. However, Adam Milstein is quick to point out that it is not just radical Muslims, but the radical left and the radical right which are also engaging in and furthering Antisemitism. Furthermore, Adam Milstein points out that while it may seem that the radical left wouldn’t have much in common with radical Muslims considering radical Muslim’s harsh stance on progressive ideals, the two groups actually are forging an alliance. This alliance has its foundation in a shared hatred of Western influence.
In the article, Milstein discusses how the radical left is able to ignore the more troubling aspects of radical Muslim beliefs. Part of this ability is the idea that the two groups share that Israel is an oppressor. Milstein uses the example of how a current feminist leader is able to ignore her distaste for Sharia Law by focusing on the idea that Israel is aggressor nation. In addition, Milstein states how this idea of Israel’s oppressor status is also rising on college campuses and influencing young people. Milstein also highlights two examples of how protesters wearing the Star of David have been asked to leave marches that claim to focus on civil rights. He points out the irony of the actions as they both took place in the United States of America.
Milstein also notes that the radical right has also sided with radical Muslims when the situation has presented itself. When it appears that of the radical right believes it has something to gain, it will ally itself with radical Muslims.
Adam Milstein is a co-founder of the Israeli-American Council and along with his wife Gila has founded the Adam and Gila Milstein family Foundation. Milstein works tirelessly to promote the rights of those who share his Jewish heritage, and to defend Israel’s reputation in the world.
