Who would have thought that The Chainsmokers would come up with music that sounds like it belongs to a more experienced music group? The Chainsmokers’ music fuses streams of indie, dance beats, pop, hip-hop, and expertly crafted electronic soundscapes into cool rifts of smoking sound. No one would have expected their recent music to have hints of darker topics and a bit more serious tones than their previous music.
The Chainsmokers have reached a high level of success, with songs like “Roses” and “Something Like This,” yet they have become well-known in a much shorter time than many a band or DJ.
As teenagers, the duo of Alex Pall and Drew Taggart had a great interest in producing and started their musical path producing, rather than singing. These DJs who produce and sing on top of it have gotten a lot of attention in only two years and they don’t seem like they’ll be stopping any time soon. Instead of producing more of the similar happy-go-lucky tunes that many people recognize, the pair is instead taking a turn in their music style, although their music is still electronically inclined.
Although they used to have a new song for their fans nearly every month, their recent music has been welcomed after a 9-month break of new tunes. Even if their new songs like “Sick Boy” may be a bit different than what most fans are used to, no one is complaining.
The Chainsmokers is made up of an easygoing pair of young guys who weren’t too long ago in college and who are now reaching success with their combination of musical genres. Maybe it’s the mix of interesting music styles that make these two stand out or it’s their dedication to their craft.
